It is with great sadness that today (20th January 2012) we must announce the closure of The Phoenix.
In recent weeks the true financial position for the organisation has been brought to light, and we have been left with no other option than to close. The current staff team and trustees have been working tirelessly to try and save as much provision as possible, and hope to move some services over to other local organisations. Details of which will be released as and when contracts are finalised.
The Youth Theatre will continue on Thursday evenings, at Friends Meeting House, with staff working in a voluntary capacity, until a formal arrangement can be made with the Amy Leigh Barnes Foundation.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank all those that have supported The Phoenix over the years, including partnership organisations, funders and fundraisers, the local authority, our freelancers and volunteers, trustee’s past and present, the staff team and the children and young people themselves. Some amazing work has been carried out over the 14 years that The Phoenix has been in operation, and we will treasure the memories of all the wonderful young people that we have had the pleasure of working with during this time.
